Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and implementing respiratory care plans
  • Performing therapeutic procedures, including arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
  • Communicating with healthcare teams to recommend changes in respiratory care plans
  • Providing education to patients, students, and colleagues
  • Participating in quality assurance and performance improvement activities

Requirements include:

  • Associate's degree in respiratory care technology
  • RRT certification or ability to obtain within one year
  • BCLS certification by the AHA
  • Active licensure by the state licensing board

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, ACLS certification, and clinical experience in respiratory care.
