The Academy business has been established and consistently grown, Performance Camps have been expanded, major events have been added, and partnerships with global brands like The Cleveland Clinic, Marriott, Starbucks, and UnderArmour have been formed.

National Partnerships and Events

SPIRE partners with USATF, USA Wrestling, Big 10, Atlantic 10, NCAA, and other national organizations to host over 1 million visitors annually. These partnerships bring a range of sports and events to the campus, solidifying SPIRE's position as a premier destination for athletic competitions.

The Role of Construction Foreman/Director of Construction

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Foreman/Director of Construction to manage all aspects of earthwork at SPIRE Academy. As the primary supervisor, you will oversee field operations, ensuring daily production, cost management, safety compliance, organization, labor coordination, equipment scheduling, and subcontractor oversight. Your expertise in irrigation, waterline, reclaim, and storm installation, as well as grading, will be essential in completing projects efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage all aspects of earthwork, working closely with the in-house crew to complete projects while overseeing all crew work and serving as direct supervisor.
  • Assume full responsibility for field operations oversight, including daily production, cost management, safety compliance, organization, labor coordination, equipment scheduling, and subcontractor oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with codes and regulations to prevent fines and interruptions, including enforcement of OSHA regulations.
  • Manage cost, scheduling, and forecasting, regularly reviewing with SPIRE owner management team, reporting to Director of Special Properties.
  • Develop and maintain positive connections with the SPIRE on-site team, maintaining project communication and reporting as needed for SPIRE leadership.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Foreman in civil construction or earthwork.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibilities in heavy civil construction.
  • Ability to schedule and direct work crews and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of plans and specifications, with the ability to prepare work plans.
  • Proficient skills with lasers, line and grade, deep excavation, and dewatering.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. A Class A CDL Driver's License is a plus, but not required.
