Job Title: Chair/Pediatrician-in-Chief

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a visionary leader to head the Department of Pediatrics and serve as the Pediatrician-in-Chief for the Children's Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned pediatrician with a strong track record of leadership and a passion for advancing pediatric care. As the Chair/Pediatrician-in-Chief, you will be responsible for leading the growth of pediatric programs, collaborating with physician, nursing, and administrative leadership to establish and achieve strategic goals, and inspiring and developing others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to strengthen existing clinical programs and identify new program needs.
  • Provide leadership to the CHoNJ executive team, nursing directors, and administrative directors.
  • Serve as chief clinical spokesperson for CHoNJ and engage in regular communications with clinical and non-clinical departments.
  • Represent CHoNJ externally and build community, regional, and national relationships to further the CHoNJ program.
  • Partner with Chairs of various clinical departments, nursing, and administrative leaders to address cross-service clinical and service issues and build integrated programs.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of CHoNJ's Medical Staff to ensure accreditation standards are met or exceeded and compliance with corporate policies and bylaws.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain faculty.
  • Promote and support academic and research activities of faculty and trainees in collaboration with other site pediatric chairs and the two Rutgers medical schools associated with the RWJBH system.
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics and/or in a Pediatric subspecialty.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey.
