The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association is on the lookout for a Vice President of Technology. This pivotal role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and retirement plans.

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Technology will be responsible for steering the organization towards technological excellence. Reporting directly to the CAFO, this leader will implement best practices in technology while advancing the organization's initiatives. The role involves overseeing the IT and Development teams, ensuring efficient daily operations, and mentoring team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a technology strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and values, fostering a culture of success, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Provide leadership across all facets of Information Technology support and development.
  • Facilitate effective communication with staff and stakeholders to assess needs and evaluate solutions.
  • Assist project managers in scheduling technology adoption initiatives.
  • Advise senior management on enhancements to products and processes.
  • Standardize software adoption across the organization.
  • Conduct design and architecture reviews.
  • Develop and implement technology policies and provide training on these guidelines.
  • Oversee service and support operations, including workstation support and asset management.
  • Lead initiatives in cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage enterprise infrastructure and evaluate operating systems and access controls.
  • Implement cybersecurity solutions and manage troubleshooting and disaster recovery processes.
  • Supervise application development, ensuring alignment with business needs through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Proactively manage resource allocation and enhance talent acquisition and retention strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
  • 8-12 years of experience in transformational IT leadership, with at least 3-5 years in a senior role.
  • Proven track record as a technical manager handling complex challenges.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in Java and PHP development tools, as well as Object-Oriented Design.
  • Experience in SQL and data modeling, with familiarity in commercial RDBMS.
  • Five to ten years of experience in network architecture and application development management.
  • Relevant industry certifications are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
  • High energy, proactive, and capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Application Development Manager and associated staff.
  • Supervises the Enterprise Architect and System Administrator.
  • Manages the Help Desk Technician.
