Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion, ensuring project needs and requirements are met.
  • Design Development: Develop, modify, and review production drawings for life science facilities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Project Planning: Participate in the development of project schedules, scopes, budgets, staffing plans, and construction planning, ensuring effective management of change orders.
  • Industry Expertise: Apply knowledge and understanding of FDA, cGMP, and other industry concepts, practices, codes, and procedures to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Design Optimization: Develop designs that integrate equipment, processes, and people, identifying operational efficiency and optimization opportunities to reduce facility footprint.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply expert knowledge of architectural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures to complex projects, finding and developing non-standard design solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality reviews of production drawings and project-related data to ensure design compliance with project, client, and industry standards.
  • Communication: Lead field inspections, installation, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients, preparing and presenting technical reports for clients and industry publications.
  • Business Development: Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors, developing new business opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the architectural practice, mentoring and guiding less experienced engineers, and ensuring QA/QC process adherence.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited program.
  • Experience: 8 years of architectural experience, consulting preferred.
  • Registration: Registered Architect preferred.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge in standard architectural techniques and procedures, excellent written and verbal communication skills, expert computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, BIM (Revit), Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programs).
  • Abilities: Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, demonstrated critical thinking skills, and ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
