We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg team on the Day Shift. Our Medical/Surgical Unit is a 36-bed unit focused on providing high-quality, individualized care to patients with a variety of general and specialized surgical procedures.
Job Responsibilities:- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and document nursing care plans.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures, and perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice.
- Promote patients' independence by establishing care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit preferred; orthopedics experience highly desired.
