If you are eager to contribute to a groundbreaking project centered on a novel reactor design, the SMR-160, which is based on pressurized water reactor (PWR) technology, presents a unique opportunity.

This position involves overseeing and directing the activities of Holtec and its subcontractors concerning the structures, systems, and components of the balance of plant.

Your responsibilities will include providing valuable insights into design configurations to enhance operability, optimize reliability and cost-effectiveness, and ensure adherence to U.S. nuclear industry best practices.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the engineering oversight of balance of plant systems, including turbine generators, auxiliary systems, cooling water systems, utility systems, and various mechanical process systems.
  • Assist in the creation and validation of system documentation such as P&IDs, design descriptions, specifications, logic diagrams, process flow calculations, and equipment sizing.
  • Advise on system and component design requirements, ensuring seamless integration within the balance of plant and with nuclear island structures.
  • Support the development of equipment specifications for balance of plant machinery and significant subcontracts.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of system configurations to meet startup and shutdown objectives for the balance of plant.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing within a diverse BOP engineering team, which spans various traditional engineering disciplines.
  • Assist in the preparation of Safety Analysis Report content.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of experience in process engineering, chemical engineering, or power plant engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with balance of plant systems, including steam, water, air, electric, and waste heat systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to produce precise documentation.
  • Robust problem-solving abilities and proficiency in computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in commercial PWR plant operations.
  • Familiarity with PWR nuclear island systems.

Language Proficiency:
Korean

Logistics:
Infrequent travel may be required.
Relocation assistance is available.
