Job Summary:The System Safety Engineer will be responsible for implementing systems principles and concepts to master the complexity of modern warfighting systems development. This includes analyzing and interpreting design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement systems principles and concepts to reduce uncertainty among engineering design alternatives and acquisitions decision making
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements
- Work directly with customers and project leadership to report out on safety program status and prepare reports
- Improve and evolve the System Safety process and methodology, and be an ambassador of the discipline within the company
- Create prediction models and mathematical analyses supporting product reliability, maintainability, and availability
- Read and understand engineering reports, drawings, and electrical wiring diagrams/schematics
- Coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- A minimum of 5+ years of work experience as a Systems Safety engineer or related role
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical issues and status in both written and oral form to internal and external customers
- Adaptable to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with their team to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated, and contribute to a positive work environment
