Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is accountable for ensuring the optimal physical and mechanical state of the facility, utility systems, and production machinery. This role involves executing a range of general and specialized repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks to support production and operational equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining facility systems such as steam, chillers, and various utility lines, as well as overseeing a variety of electrical and electronic devices. The technician will diagnose issues and replace worn or defective components while performing preventative maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily maintenance support and repairs for all production and facility equipment and systems, including conduit bending, wire pulling, and motor replacements.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on all production and facility equipment using the work order system.
  • Work safely around ammonia, acid, steam systems, and high voltage, understanding the necessary precautions against exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Possess knowledge of basic electrical and electronic principles, including three-phase and single-phase controls, ladder diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic systems, including programmable controls and power supplies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and adhere to manufacturers' procedures for all equipment.
  • Support maintenance operations for off-site manufacturing and warehouse facilities, including the procurement of spare parts.
  • Collaborate with Managers, Supervisors, and Operators to address maintenance issues promptly.
  • Assist in maintaining building security and operate alarm and fire protection systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word for data entry and report generation.
  • Eager to learn fundamental electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, combining technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to mechanical noise.
  • Dusty and dirty work environment due to raw materials.
  • Variable temperatures ranging from warm to cold.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, and kneeling.

Work Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift, Monday to Friday, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
