Key Responsibilities and Skills:
- Efficiently manage patient interactions for individuals of all ages seeking immediate clinical assistance.
- Welcome patients upon arrival, ensuring all pertinent information is ready for a productive visit.
- Accurately enter registration and financial data into our systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in operating various computer applications.
- Respond to incoming calls in a timely manner, adhering to established service protocols.
- Handle inquiries regarding services, insurance, referrals, and general information effectively.
- Understand the prerequisites for radiology prior authorization.
- Assist in maintaining an orderly environment and adequate supply levels.
- Collect co-payments and perform daily financial reconciliations.
- Oversee waiting room dynamics and patient flow management.
- Conduct follow-ups on patient visits from the previous day.
- Facilitate check-out procedures and schedule subsequent appointments.
- Assist with patient transportation within the facility.
- Provide support to both administrative and clinical teams as required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support is mandatory.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference given to candidates with post-secondary education.
- At least one year of relevant work experience is essential.
- Additional training in office systems is preferred.
Required Competencies:
- Familiarity with practice operations and standards.
- Understanding of administrative tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- Ability to manage workflows effectively and communicate in a clear, professional manner.
- Basic typing and data entry skills, along with a foundational understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes.
Working Environment:
This role is situated within a healthcare practice setting, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and medical procedures.
Organizational Responsibilities:
Adhere to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, follow safe practices, comply with organizational policies and procedures, and complete all required training.
