Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Exton, PA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing pipe stress analysis and design for power piping and industrial systems, adhering to ASME B31.1 and B31.3 codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pipe stress analysis and design for power piping and industrial systems
- Develop and implement piping systems using stress software to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project deliverables are met
- Conduct calculations and perform pipe stress analysis using ASME B31.1 and B31.3 codes and standards
- Model piping systems using stress software to verify piping flexibility, stability, and qualification of equipment nozzle loads
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar degree from an ABET-accredited college
- Five (5) years or more working as an engineer performing stress analysis is preferred
- PE license preferred
- Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, supportive team player, and good verbal communication
- Experience reading and understanding flow diagrams and P&IDs
- Experience writing pipe stress reports required
- Utilizing and understanding internal and external piping specifications is required
- Knowledge of pipe supports is required from a stress and practical design perspective
- Pipe support design engineering using AutoCad-based programs is preferred
- Familiarity with ASME B31.1, B31.3, and ASME Section VIII
- Experienced with or desire to learn any or all: Caesar II Stress Software Applications, AutoPipe Software Application, AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D, Navisworks, MathCAD
