Job Summary:

The Sterile Supply Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, and preparation of surgical items and equipment. This includes the use of specialized equipment such as sonic cleaners, washer sterilizers, steam sterilizers, and EtO sterilizers. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of microbiology and infection control principles and be able to maintain accurate records of sterilization processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate and clean surgical items and equipment using specialized equipment
  • Prepare and assemble instrument sets, trays, and other items for processing
  • Fill case carts to an acceptable level and ensure proper rotation of stock
  • Conduct decontamination and breakdown of patient equipment, instruments sets, and case carts
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • High School Degree or GED
  • Able to read, write, speak English, and perform simple math operations
  • Ability to provide leadership and oversee the work of technicians
  • Knowledge of microbiology, infection control, and computerized record keeping
  • Up to 1 year experience
Working Conditions:

The Sterile Supply Technician I will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, cleaning agents, and other hazardous materials. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the efficient and safe processing of medical supplies.
