Job Title: Head Art Museum Security Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Head Art Museum Security Supervisor is responsible for providing administrative and management oversight of the Princeton University Art Museum's security operations. This includes supervising security staff, scheduling, training, and coordinating security efforts for the museum and its collections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol Operations: Supervise and coordinate security personnel, administer policies and procedures, and conduct daily briefings and debriefings.
  • Staff Development & Performance Management: Evaluate staff performance, recommend training, and supervise, train, and cross-train employees.
  • Administration: Serve as liaison with campus stakeholders, administer access database, and approve time collection for bi-weekly employees.
  • Event Management: Participate in event planning, coordinate with Transportation and Parking Services, and manage security efforts for events.
  • Control Room Management: Supervise control room activities, monitor alarms and camera systems, and coordinate response with DPS Communication Center.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in risk management committee, support after-hours emergency communications, and respond to university emergencies.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Three to five years of progressively responsible security experience, including customer service and supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, active listening, high emotional intelligence, and advanced time management and prioritization skills.
Working Conditions:

The Head Art Museum Security Supervisor works in a fast-paced environment with moderate exposure to hazards and physical risks to personal safety. The position requires flexibility, including working all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime shifts.
