About the Role:
The Princeton University Art Museum is seeking a highly skilled and organized Associate Registrar to support the department with exhibition and loan activity. The successful candidate will have a strong background in museum registration and administration, with experience shipping loans and exhibitions domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare objects in the PUAM collection for outgoing loan, including creating documents and managing the loan process with internal and external partners.
- Coordinate all loans and collections objects for exhibitions, forecasting loan costs and working with shipping agents and transportation agents to generate crates and shipping routes.
- Act as courier for art shipments and prepare registrarial documents, including condition reports and loan agreements.
Requirements:
- BA with a minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience in museum registration and administration.
- Strong computer skills, including expert facility with MS Office and experience with relational databases, such as The Museum System (TMS).
- Previous experience shipping loans and exhibitions domestically and internationally, as well as acting as a courier with artwork.
- Knowledge of current best practices and standards in the field, including art handling, packing, and shipping.
