Job Title: Medical Director for Adult Services

Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a highly qualified Medical Director for Adult Services to provide administrative oversight and supervision of physician advisors conducting utilization review for our adult members.

The Medical Director will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of clinical/medical policies and initiatives, as well as engaging cross-systems stakeholders for adult services. This role will also involve conducting utilization reviews and participating in physician after-hours call coverage.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychiatry, preferably with inpatient experience, and be licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry. The Medical Director will possess excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong analytical skills.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to integrate the long-term vision of CBH and focus current activities on what is critical to achieve future success. They will also be an effective leader, able to manage and guide efforts to address challenges and drive continuous improvement for CBH's programs, services, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative oversight and supervision of physician advisors conducting utilization review for adult members
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical/medical policies and initiatives
  • Engage cross-systems stakeholders for adult services
  • Conduct utilization reviews and participate in physician after-hours call coverage
  • Participate in quality reviews as needed for specific member complaints, grievances, and agency reviews
  • Participate in clinical and administrative meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Medical degree
  • State license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical psychiatry, preferably including inpatient exposure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with clinical/medical policy development and implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
