Job Summary

As an Electrical Systems Specialist with T.A. Loving Company, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and light fixtures. Your work will be completed in accordance with NEC, drawings, and specifications.

  • Perform complex mathematical calculations to analyze problems and make decisions to reach resolution.
  • Take, read, and analyze measurements to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Read and recognize the difference in word and number series to ensure effective communication.
  • Write in complex sentences to convey detailed instructions and procedures.
  • Read and understand drawing and specifications to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety rules.
  • Ability to remember and complete detailed written or oral instructions to ensure successful project completion.
  • Able to supervise multiple tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Maintain a Safety-First mindset to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Layout, install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components, and fixtures using hand and power tools based on job specifications, electrical drawings, and local codes.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety rules.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, including circuit tracers, volt meters, megger, proximity testers, and ohmmeters.
  • Install panel boards, transformers, motor control center, and motors.
  • Layout and work from ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, outlet/junction boxes, fixtures and fixture whips.
  • Place conduit, pipes or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
  • Terminations to circuit breakers, transformers, or other electrical components.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit; move and lift heavy objects.
  • Direct and instruct apprentices and helpers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Perform all additional needed tasks on a jobsite during pauses in electrical work.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have 5 plus years of experience in electrical construction
  • Experience in Water/Wastewater Industry, preferred but not required
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
