Behavioral Health Responder

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Responder to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing crisis intervention, case management, and support services to individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emergency response and crisis intervention services to individuals in crisis, utilizing evidence-based interventions and de-escalation techniques.
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans to address the unique needs of each client.
- Collaborate with community partners, including law enforcement, emergency services, and social services, to ensure seamless coordination of care.
- Provide ongoing support and case management services to clients, including regular check-ins, goal setting, and progress monitoring.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of person-centered, trauma-informed care plans.
- Document all client interactions, care coordination, and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, attend training sessions, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling.
- 1-2 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse, or a related field.
- Valid CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification.
- NM Cert Peer Support or Family Peer Support or CMHW certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and community partners.
This position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including community-based locations, hospitals, and emergency response situations. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
