Position Title: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Role Summary: Under the supervision of the Associate Administrator and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Nurse Practitioner (NP) is tasked with supporting inpatient medical management for patients assigned by hospital administration. This role involves collaboration with the quality improvement department and medical staff to ensure effective patient care management, optimizing the use of healthcare providers for timely treatment and management.
This position primarily focuses on critically ill patients, spanning from adolescents to geriatric populations, ensuring care is tailored to the functional and developmental age of each individual.

- Interprets diagnostic studies in consultation with medical staff.
- Performs procedures within the NP's scope of practice.
- Orders medications and therapies in accordance with regulations.
- Requests consultations and initiates referrals as necessary.
- Evaluates patient responses to interventions.
- Documents discharge summaries and coordinates follow-up care.
- Educates patients and families on diagnostic procedures and post-care.
- Contributes to the development of educational materials.
- Participates in the education of healthcare professionals.
- Serves as a preceptor for advanced practice nursing students.
- Develops and presents educational programs for staff.
- Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
- Current NP or PA licensure in California.
- Preferred special training and certification in acute care.
- ACLS certification required.
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Eligibility for a furnishing license or dispensing number is necessary.
- Must maintain personal malpractice insurance as required.
