Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector III to join our team at Blue Origin, LLC. As a key member of our Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our spaceflight systems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed inspections of New Glenn vehicle structural, electrical, and mechanical assemblies and systems using CAD models and blueprints.
  • Verify assemblies for conformance against engineering requirements.
  • Document nonconformances in accordance with internal procedures and communicate with the team to resolve quality issues.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Document final photo inspections of hardware.
  • Perform close-out, first-article, in-process, and final inspections.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 5+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in nonconformance systems.
  • Competence in blueprint reading skills and 3D modeling.
  • Experience with performing electronic and mechanical testing and inspections using portable measuring devices.
  • Proficient in inspecting tight-tolerance, high-value flight vehicles and systems.
  • Familiar with personal computer use.
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stoop, bend, crawl, and move within tight spaces.
Desired Qualifications
  • Airframe & Powerplant certificate (A&P) or ASQ CQA.
  • Experience working with aerospace propulsion assembly installation and testing processes and procedures.
  • Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001).
  • Strong understanding of safety programs and OSHA regulations and requirements.
