Job Summary:

Linux and Windows Server Admin

Cincinnati, OH

Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Implement VMware Aria endpoint discovery for server migrations (formerly vRNI)
  • Remove User Tickets in ServiceNow
  • Server Decommission tickets (power off/clean up)
  • Verify and remediate servers not responding to Logic Monitor (SNMP/WMI services)
  • Assist with building out Windows 11 VDI workstations (PXE Boot)
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation
  • Advanced knowledge of web configuration, including Apache, WebLogic, JBoss, IIS, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Operating System for support
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems for support
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Automation tools, including Ansible and Satellite
  • Consult with personnel to identify current operating procedures and clarify objectives
  • Collaborate with other technical staff to resolve problems with software/infrastructure systems, detail understanding of monitoring, security, DR, and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision
  • Possess excellent analytical, organizational, strategic, and critical thinking skills
  • Create technical documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • OS Experience: Windows 2016, 2019, 2022, and Linux Red Hat 7, 8, 9
  • ServiceNow experience (ticket management, CI look-ups, CMDB reporting)
  • Management/Patching: Puppet and Satellite
  • Middleware support/configuration using WebLogic, JBoss, Apache, and IIS – at least one of these skills necessary
  • Storage: Local and SAN (all RAID types), NFS, RDM, etc.
  • HW Experience for Dell, HP, Cisco UCS, Blades, and Chassis
  • Environmental: VMware 3-tier, VMware Cloud Foundation, Azure
  • DBMS: SQL, Oracle, UDB.DB2 systems at an OS admin level
  • Security: Knowledgeable of firewalls, server security, encryption, Networking (NSX)
  • Knowledgeable of DR processes and principles
