Job Summary

The Clinics Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is a key member of the cardiology team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide adult cardiology care, including health assessments, physical exams, and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop and implement education programs to meet the needs of the population.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and address patient clinical problems and healthcare needs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, distinguishing between normal and abnormal findings.
  • Make appropriate referrals to physicians and community agencies, providing preventative health maintenance services.
  • Collaborate with supervising cardiologists and the service line to provide coordinated care in multiple locations.
  • Assist with Electronic Health Record (EHR) in basket coverage and patient triage, providing additional clinical support for patients with out-of-office providers.
Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioner: Bachelor's degree from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited school of nursing, with certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Physician Assistant: Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, with certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current APRN licensure in California (and/or NV), ANCC or AANP certification, BLS certification, and a Collaborative Service Agreement (CA) or Supervising Physician Agreement (NV State Medical Board) with a designated supervising physician.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a cardiology practice/service line is highly desirable.
