Patient Care Technician, Med Surg, 40 Hours, Boston Medical Center

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our MedSurg team at Boston Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct clinical and support services to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
* Perform a variety of delegated patient care interventions, including obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, and assisting with hygiene.
* Participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families, using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization.
* Work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED certificate
* Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification
* Ability to pass clinical competency testing
* Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
* Basic math and computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
* One year of previous experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute hospital setting
* Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation
* Completed an approved Patient Care Technician training
* Completed an approved certified medical assistant training
* One year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic (considered for adult ED positions only)
