Certified Surgical Technologist III

Job Summary:

As a Certified Surgical Technologist III at Kootenai Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your expertise in preparing and maintaining medical equipment will be essential in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures
  • Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room
  • Participate in process improvement projects to enhance patient care and safety
  • Work in the CVOR and Main Operating Room, with opportunities to float to other areas
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
  • 2 years' experience, CVOR preferred
  • Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required
  • Operating room experience required
  • Competent in more than two specialty areas
  • Must be certified to perform CPR
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
