Certified Surgical Technologist III

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist III to join our team at Kootenai Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining medical equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures, adhering to hospital regulations and industry standards.
  • Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Participate in process improvement projects, contributing to the advancement of our surgical services.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with our surgical team to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of surgical technology.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
  • Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned.

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
  • 2 years' experience in CVOR, with a preference for those with surgical technician certification (CST).
  • Operating room experience is required, with the ability to work in multiple specialty areas.
  • Competent in more than two specialty areas, with the ability to adapt to new procedures and technologies.
  • Must be certified to perform CPR, with current BLS certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds, with the ability to maintain a standing and/or sitting position.
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job, with the ability to stoop, crouch, or bend as needed.
