Position Overview

As the Logistics Operations Leader at Harbinger Motors, you will spearhead our initiatives in overseeing the strategy, cost management, and efficiency of inbound logistics operations essential for the production of our electric medium-duty truck chassis. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing the logistics provider supply chain, optimizing shipping routes and methods, and ensuring a smooth flow of components from global suppliers to our manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive inbound logistics strategy aimed at optimizing costs, quality, and delivery timelines for raw materials, components, and parts vital for vehicle assembly.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, set performance benchmarks, and ensure compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines.
  • Oversee inbound transportation while supporting warehousing and inventory management processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Leverage data analytics and logistics software to track performance metrics, identify inefficiencies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to address logistics challenges, coordinating with production planning, procurement, and quality assurance departments to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
  • Adopt best practices in inventory management, demand forecasting, and supplier relationship management to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies concerning transportation, import/export regulations, and environmental sustainability.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and ongoing learning.
Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in inbound logistics management within the automotive, manufacturing, or related sectors, demonstrating a successful track record in optimizing supply chain operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles, including transportation management, inventory control, and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to cultivate and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and executive management.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience in managing and developing a high-performing logistics team.
