Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will assist healthcare providers with direct patient care duties, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering medications. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, performing diagnostic testing, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of our clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Room patients, take and document vital signs, and prepare patients for provider exams.
  • Administer medications under the direction of a healthcare provider and within the scope of your practice.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, such as EKGs, audiograms, and visual screenings, as instructed and document results in our electronic medical record system.
  • Assist with daily medication refill requests and review provider refill requests in the basket.
  • Review and respond to patient calls and messages, including callbacks and refill requests.
  • Ensure rooms are properly stocked and supplies are current and within expiration dates.
  • Clean patient rooms as needed, including proper handling of dirty laundry.
  • Follow directions given by nursing team leaders or supervisors and adhere to all company policies, including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant experience or completion of a medical assistant program required.
  • Ability to administer medications and injections within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent phone listening skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) months or more experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Current AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card.

Work Schedule

This is an on-call position, and you will be required to work on an as-needed basis between Monday and Friday, 8am-5pm.
