Position Title: Sanitation Specialist

Reports To: Lead Sanitation Supervisor, Assistant Executive Sanitation Supervisor, Executive Sanitation Supervisor

Supervises: N/A

Summary of Position

Responsible for executing daily sanitation tasks to ensure cleanliness and hygiene in alignment with organizational, industry, and regulatory standards. Duties include both machine and manual washing of all dining ware, glassware, cutlery, cookware, serving trays, kitchen utensils, and cutting boards. Additionally, responsible for the organization and storage of cleaned items, maintaining cleanliness in assigned Food & Beverage areas, and managing waste disposal and recycling processes. This role is performed in compliance with safety and health regulations.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are subject to change at management's discretion:
  • Receives training on all Food & Beverage Division equipment to ensure safe working practices.
  • Performs duties in compliance with health codes regarding cleaning chemical usage.
  • Attends daily pre-shift meetings for the Sanitation Department.
  • Follows established standards for breakdown areas, dishwashing machines, and other Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Adheres to procedures regarding dish rack responsibilities for washing.
  • Cleans, sorts, and stores cutlery according to established procedures.
  • Completes pot washing duties as per daily job tasks and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains cleanliness in pot washing areas in accordance with established daily tasks and procedures.
  • Organizes storage areas and manages inventory circulation as per established daily tasks and procedures.
  • Manages waste disposal and recycling processes according to established daily tasks and procedures.
  • Completes daily closing duties in line with the shift closure checklist.
  • Informs supervisor of any malfunctioning or damaged equipment.
  • Reports all safety and health concerns immediately before continuing work in the affected areas.
  • Checks out with supervisor before clocking out at the end of the shift.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned within the Sanitation Department.
  • Complies with all regulatory, departmental, and organizational policies and procedures.

  1. Education and/or Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Preference for Mescalero Apache Tribal members; bicultural experience is advantageous.

Must demonstrate a reliable work history.

Adheres to all regulatory, departmental, and organizational policies and procedures.
