VCU Health - MCV Physicians is seeking a highly accomplished academic anesthesiologist to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients at VCU Health, while also leading our pediatric anesthesiology team.
Key Responsibilities:- Teaching: Develop and improve educational programs to support learning and enhanced practice, providing clinical teaching to residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Research: Lead innovative scholarship in Pediatric Anesthesia, establishing criteria for benchmarks of success for pediatric anesthesiologists.
- Service: Participate in departmental, School of Medicine, and University committees, fostering community service and being a good citizen of the institution.
- Clinical: Develop a vision for lifelong improvement in perioperative outcomes, providing leadership and expertise in clinical operations management at VCU Health.
- MD or DO degree
- ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
- Eligible for employment in the United States
- Prior demonstration of leadership in an academic anesthesiology department
- Strong communication, clinical, and teaching skills
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
