The Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri – Columbia is in search of a full-time non-interventional Vascular Neurologist to become part of our dynamic and expanding Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Collaborate with a dedicated vascular neurologist, two esteemed combined vascular and endovascular neurologists, and two vascular neurosurgeons as we enhance our clinical services and research initiatives. Engage in the development of a telestroke program and consider the opportunity to take on the role of Medical Director for TeleNeurology or the Comprehensive Stroke Center. Participate in the Vascular Neurology Fellowship and the Endovascular Neuroscience Fellowship, with expectations for clinical and some didactic teaching.
Key Highlights of the Opportunity:
- Be part of a department with over 30 physicians and neuroscientists.
- Collaborate with a vascular team comprising a vascular neurologist, two vascular and endovascular neurologists, and two vascular neurosurgeons.
- Access to a Neuroscience ICU supported by dedicated Neurointensivists and a team of Advanced Practice Providers and residents.
- Strong partnerships with Neurosurgery, Physiatry, Radiology, and Anesthesia.
- Established Quality Improvement infrastructure.
- Engagement in the national StrokeNet program.
- Opportunities to contribute to departmental growth, educate medical students and residents, and pursue academic and research interests.
- Inpatient service and night call shared equally among the vascular neurology group.
- Outpatient practice schedule Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility for rest periods when not covering inpatient service.
- Medical Director roles available based on qualifications.
- All ranks considered based on experience.

- A dedicated 28-bed Neurosciences Center with a 6-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
- 30-bed Neurosciences ICU.

- AANEM Lab Accreditation with Exemplary Status.
- NAEC Level IV Epilepsy program.
- Certified MDA/ALS clinics.
- An accredited Sleep Program.

The MU Department of Neurology provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care in areas such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, comprehensive cerebrovascular disease, neurological intensive critical care, and headache. We also have expertise in various subspecialty areas, including pediatric neurology, neuro-ophthalmology, neuropathology, neuro-rehabilitation, and multiple sclerosis.
