Clinical Laboratory Scientist

About the Role:
San Dimas Community Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by performing a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform waived, moderate, and highly complex tests authorized by CLIA and Bus. & Prof. Code Section 1204.
- Adhere to laboratory procedures for the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
- Follow established quality control policies and procedures in documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from performance specifications.
- Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance and correct the issue or notify your supervisor, Director, or Medical Director.
- Perform maintenance on instruments and equipment as needed.
- Review patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
- Recognize age-specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics.
- Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
- May be required to perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.
Qualifications:
- ASCP certification or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of hospital laboratory work experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- Current and Valid State License if required.
