About the Role:

San Dimas Community Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care by performing a wide range of laboratory procedures, including hematology, blood bank, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, microbiology, and immunology.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate.
  • Review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
  • Recognize age-specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics.
  • Ensure that the testing of proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.

Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification, or equivalent, required within 18 months of employment.
  • One year hospital laboratory work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
