The Manufacturing Engineer II at Mate Precision Technologies is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and the ability to develop and implement efficient production methods.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products and manufacturing processes
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange the purchase of equipment, materials, and parts
- Estimate production times and related costs to inform management decisions
- Develop and maintain process sheets and cutter lists to guide machine setup and operation
- Write programs using a programming system to machine parts in a machine tool
- Read and validate machine programs to ensure accuracy
- Manage smaller project tasks and assignments
- Use ERP system to complete cost audits and analyze bills of materials, routings, and cycle times
- Collaborate with others to achieve team goals and objectives
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, clients, and customers
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Frequent computer work
- Lift and move up to 40 lbs. occasionally
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000/year
