The Tax Preparation Team Leader will oversee a group of Tax Preparation Analysts and Case Managers within the tax preparation division.
This role is vital in providing administrative guidance to Tax Preparers by organizing and coordinating team activities to meet performance indicators.
The perfect candidate will have a background in tax preparation for both individuals and corporations, experience in team leadership, strong communication abilities, and the capability to inspire others to excel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise a team of Tax Preparation Analysts tasked with reviewing client cases and identifying necessary documentation for tax preparation, while facilitating document requests through the client portal.
Manage a team of Tax Preparation Case Managers responsible for client follow-ups to ensure all required documents are gathered for tax return filings.
Utilize dashboards and reports to monitor team performance and ensure timely client engagement and case progression to Tax Preparers in line with company standards.
Evaluate team performance metrics, including client satisfaction rates, communication duration, outreach attempts, and document collection efficiency.
Provide ongoing support and training to enhance team skills and elevate client satisfaction.Address escalated client inquiries with empathy and collaboration to resolve issues effectively and maintain high service standards.
Ensure all team members complete their daily responsibilities and urgent tasks before the end of their shifts.Communicate updates on procedures and protocols, conduct necessary training, and follow up to ensure adherence.
Report attendance and performance concerns to the Performance Manager for timely resolution.
Collaborate with other departments to meet client needs and uphold exceptional customer service standards.
Identify training requirements and offer coaching to team members as necessary.Continuously seek opportunities for departmental improvement and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain accurate records in the CRM, including notes and case status updates per company protocols.
Perform additional essential functions as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
Experience with tax forms including 1040s, 1065s, 1120, 1120s, 1041s, 941s, amended returns, and state filings.
Familiarity with Schedules A, B, C, D, and E preparation nuances.
Demonstrated success in leading a customer service team.
Experience in a client-facing role within financial services, consumer lending, tax relief, or related fields.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
Self-driven with a proactive approach.
Ability to make informed decisions based on client needs and business objectives.
Professional interaction skills with all organizational levels.
Proficient in CRM systems or similar case management software.
Familiarity with TalkDesk or other cloud-based phone systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Google Gmail, Calendly, and internal communication tools.

SALARY:
$67,000 - $75,000 + Commission.
This range reflects TaxRise's current good-faith pay scale for this position. TaxRise reserves the right to adjust this range as necessary.
