Chief of Practice Development

Houston Harbaugh, P.C. - Building Client Confidence® is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Practice Development to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and development of our practice areas, identifying and recruiting talented professionals, and overseeing the implementation of strategic growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic growth plans for the firm's practice areas, working closely with Practice Area Chairs and Firm Executive Committee Members.
  • Identify and recruit talented professionals to join our team, consistent with the firm's strategic growth plans and specific needs of our practice areas.
  • Oversee the implementation of attorney recruiting and development initiatives, including individual attorney recruitment and recruitment of groups of attorneys.
  • Manage and coordinate evaluations and reviews that measure the specific skills of personnel in individual practice groups.
  • Work with the Firm's Growth and Recruitment and Retention Committees to drive business development and growth initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (Juris Doctor preferred)
  • Law firm experience in business development and/or recruitment of at least 5 years
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of recruiting industry, concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Possesses superior organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently and be proactive
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
