Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is eager to recruit a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer – Hardware Lead to enhance our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

This role will be situated within our Avionics Integration Organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing and nurturing a team of hardware and infrastructure engineers through technology innovation, execution, integration, and deployment.
  • Facilitating technical discussions regarding datacenter and IT system infrastructure development while collaborating with software development and other stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the management of the Infrastructure Jira project, executing scrums, sprint plans, and resolving priority conflicts.
  • Ensuring technical breadth across the technology stack within the datacenter/IT system.
  • Managing staffing and content delivery plans across multiple business sectors.
  • Planning release content across various IFCs based on program milestones with relevant technical content.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner to refine the backlog, prioritize content, and execute tasks based on milestones and technical requirements. This role does not permit telework and necessitates the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) field and 9 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM field and 7 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio and other Office applications for engineering documentation.
  • Active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR), which must be secured prior to the start of employment and within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the company to meet its operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current applicable SAP access.
  • Experience as a lead, functional, and/or Cost Account Manager.
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS Compute, NetApp ONTAP/StorageGrid, Cisco Nexus Networks, VMware virtualization (vSphere, NSX-T, Horizon, vRealize, and vCloud Foundation).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of personnel and management.

Salary Range:
$133,000 - $199,600 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company outcomes. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
