Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Electronics Engineer – Hardware Lead to enhance our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

This position will be situated within our Avionics Integration Organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directing and nurturing a team of hardware and infrastructure engineers through technology innovation, execution, integration, and deployment.
  • Facilitating technical discussions regarding datacenter and IT system infrastructure development while collaborating with software development and other stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the management of the Infrastructure Jira project, executing scrums, sprint plans, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ensuring technical breadth across the technology stack in the datacenter/IT system.
  • Managing staffing and content delivery plans across multiple business areas.
  • Planning release content across various IFCs based on program milestones with technical deliverables.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner to refine the backlog, prioritize tasks, and execute work based on milestones and technical requirements. This role does not permit telework and will necessitate the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline and 9 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of relevant engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and other Office products for engineering documentation.
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR), which must be secured prior to employment commencement and within a reasonable timeframe as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current applicable SAP access.
  • Experience as a lead, functional, and/or Cost Account Manager.
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS Compute, NetApp ONTAP/StorageGrid, Cisco Nexus Networks, VMware virtualization (vSphere, NSX-T, Horizon, vRealize, and vCloud Foundation).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

Salary Range:
$133,000 - $199,600. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
