Job Summary

This is a temporary position during the summer of 2025 at Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation. The Market Optimization Intern will assist with congestion management activities, develop price forecasting models, and optimize portfolios. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with congestion management activities to ensure reliable electric service to customers.
  • Develop and implement price forecasting models to inform business decisions.
  • Optimize portfolios to maximize returns and minimize risk.
  • Analyze existing strategies to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, or Economic-related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing an Engineering degree with an ABET-accredited program.

Work Environment

Physical Activities

The physical activities required for this job include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouch, or crawling, talking or hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision.
