Job Overview

Razz Construction, a leading heavy civil road, highway, utility, and bridge contractor, seeks a seasoned Project Manager/Estimator to oversee construction projects from planning to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of construction projects, including project accounting and control.
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects and supervise on-site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients.
  • Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in construction management or related fields.
  • Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or related field (preferred not required).
  • Familiarity with construction management software, experience with ComputerEase a plus.
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid preferred.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership qualities, negotiation skills, and deadline and detail-oriented.

Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine scope of work and required resources.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis to support bid proposals.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bid submissions.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.

Estimator Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil construction projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Excel, Bluebeam).
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy civil projects.
  • Experience with bid analysis, subcontractor negotiations, and cost tracking.

Salary $105,000-$145,000 DOE
