Job Summary:
The Surgical/Med-Surg Unit at Mercy Hospital Ardmore is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Surgical/Med-Surg RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from surgery and those requiring medical-surgical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients recovering from surgery and those requiring medical-surgical care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor and report patient vital signs, symptoms, and lab results to the healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician
- Perform various medical procedures, including JP drains, wound vacs, NGT's, and chest tubes
Requirements:
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
Physical Demands:
The position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Prolonged standing and walking are also required each shift. The ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties is essential.
