Are you a skilled network engineer looking for a challenging role in a dynamic environment? Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a Network Operations Engineer II to join our team.

As a Network Operations Engineer II, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of communications infrastructure, including data, video, and voice networks. You will provide technical and collaborative skills in the delivery and maintenance of communications infrastructure and services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing network infrastructure at BU campuses and satellite locations
  • Completing service requests and responding to incidents within defined SLAs
  • Ensuring the highest level of network performance, including reliability, scalability, affordability, and security
  • Ensuring documentation is complete, updated, and archived as necessary
  • Working closely with the Service Desk and other internal departments

Required skills include:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of routing & switching technology, BGP, OSPF, TACACS, RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, IPv6, Load balancers, Firewalls, Cisco Wired, Wireless, Datacenter Technologies, VoIP, CLI, F5, Palo Alto, VMware, Linux, MSOS, Zenoss, Rancid, Cacti, MRTG, ServiceNow
  • Network troubleshooting and ITIL skills
  • CCNA or equivalent experience
  • Participation in 7x24 on-call support rotation
