Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Tech First Assist to join our team at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical technology and first assisting, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in operative and other invasive procedures as a first assistant, utilizing strong technical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient procedure, anticipating and responding to their needs.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a surgical technologist program.
  • Completion of a First Assistant program or competency verification by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon.
  • Three years of perioperative services experience.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA), Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), or Surgical Assistant, Certified (SA-C) certification preferred.
