Production Manager Job Description

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all assigned plants.
  • Manage employee relations, providing guidance on recruitment, training, and development strategies.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term business planning strategies to achieve operational excellence.
  • Direct process improvement goals and objectives to ensure productivity and efficiency goals are met.
  • Manage the annual budget process, ensuring assigned plants meet or exceed budget goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in the aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt industry with a track record of progressive responsibility and successful operations management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and provide mentorship to employees.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences.
