Piedmont Health System

Sign-On Bonus Available
This specialized 18-bed cardiac unit is dedicated to the comprehensive care of both cardiac and vascular patients. The typical patient demographic includes individuals with conditions such as angina, cardiac arrhythmias, congestive heart failure exacerbations, hypertensive crises, abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs, carotid endarterectomies, and pulmonary embolisms. Our unit operates as a hybrid facility, accommodating acute, intermediate, and intensive care patients. Our nursing team comprises both telemetry and ICU nurses, ensuring a high standard of care.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is generally 1:4 for non-ICU patients and 1:2 (occasionally 1:3) for ICU patients. In critical situations, our ICU nurses may manage a 1:1 patient ratio for high-acuity cases involving advanced devices such as Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Impella.

Our nursing staff collaborates closely with cardiologists and vascular surgeons, along with their teams, to deliver exceptional patient care. If you are seeking to join a knowledgeable and cohesive group of healthcare professionals, the Cardiac Care Unit is an ideal environment for you.

Key Responsibilities
Oversees the provision of quality nursing care for patients across the lifespan, as well as managing operational matters during shifts. Provides clinical support as required based on patient census.
