Job Summary:

Responsible for the daily operations of a distribution and returns warehouse, which includes aspects of management interface, OSHA compliance, and warehouse asset management. The Warehouse Operations Lead is functionally responsible for orchestrating a team of 8 associates throughout daily distribution center activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively lead the team through daily activities (shipping, receiving, returns, kitting, etc.)
  • Strategically deploy resources appropriately to support daily workload and accomplish goals
  • Orchestrate logistics support for out-of-scope assignments to fulfill requests from other departments
  • Manage warehouse assets and facilitate their repairs (forklifts, racking, etc.)
  • Ensure OSHA compliance via safety standards enforcement, and maintain necessary documentation and logs
  • Ensure appropriate progress is being made to ensure age and value of returns inventory meets targets
  • Support freight claims process as necessary
  • Ensure employees are optimally utilized during low volume periods
  • Track and report warehouse losses via internal damages due to mishandling
  • Spearhead warehouse preparation for key events (Year End Inventory, Audits, etc.)
  • Work closely with management to provide operational performance context and to request needed support
  • Ensure the team is using best practices to support their assigned functions
  • Conduct forklift training for the team to keep credentials up to date
  • Ensure the operations is fully compliant with CTPAT requirements
  • Spend up to 100% of work time standing, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, climbing, walking, reaching, and other physical activities

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ years of warehousing experience; preferably in finished goods and small parts distribution environments
  • 2+ years warehouse operations lead experience
  • Forklift certification and 6+ years forklift driving experience
  • 2+ years experience with MS Office Suite; especially Excel
  • 4+ years with WMS systems (SAP Preferred)
