Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic leader in fundraising who excels at fostering enduring relationships. The Director of Foundation and Corporate Support will play a crucial role in securing and managing our private funding from foundations and corporate entities. This essential position involves renewing existing funding, identifying new prospects, crafting compelling proposals, and ensuring thorough reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality, persuasive proposals that engage funders while managing all aspects of preparation, submission, and reporting.
- Identify and nurture new funding sources from foundations and corporations, maintaining a comprehensive and dynamic prospecting matrix.
- Oversee the development and approval process for program budgets, applications, and stewardship materials.
- Coordinate a detailed calendar of proposals to ensure no opportunities are overlooked.
- Create and implement innovative systems for reporting reminders and templates, keeping the team ahead of deadlines.
- Collaborate with development and finance teams to prepare and review financial reports and adjust grant budgets as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 3-5 years of direct experience in fundraising or grant writing.
- Proven success in crafting clear, concise, and visually appealing proposals and reports, preferably for a social services non-profit.
- Demonstrated history of securing foundation and corporate grants, particularly within the New York City area.
- In-depth understanding of private grant proposal submissions, funder selection criteria, and post-award expectations.
- Familiarity with city, state, and federal RFPs and grant procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a composed, professional demeanor.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management, preferably Salesforce.
