At St. Charles Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for facilitating, prioritizing, and delegating anesthesia technician resources to anesthesiologists and their patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure service-specific resources are available and maintained as necessary.
  • Schedule management of anesthesia technicians.
  • Participate in orientation and training of new anesthesia team members.
  • Stock and/or oversee stocking of anesthesia machines and all anesthesia-related supply carts and trays.
  • Coordinate with vendors for new products, trials, and equipment.
  • Develop, plan, and implement process improvements within the service.
  • Alert leadership to actual or potential issues or problems in a timely manner.
  • Initiate/assist with projects, based on unit needs in conjunction with leadership.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and responsively with anesthesiologists to their needs, concerns, etc., and follow up with leadership as applicable.
  • Serve as a clinical resource related to anesthesia needs and supplies.
  • Complete unit-specific and annual competencies on time.
  • Implement, participate in, and evaluate service-specific orientation and education needs in conjunction with OR Nurse Educator for all caregivers required.
  • Remain current with communication via email, verbal communication, meeting minutes, and other means of communication.
  • Rotate stock to and assure use only before expiration.
  • Respond with supplies/equipment during routine and emergent situations.
  • Remain knowledgeable of all anesthesia-related equipment. Diagnose or troubleshoot equipment and repair and/or initiate repairs.
  • Collaborate for preventative maintenance and/or replacement of anesthesia-related equipment.
  • Provide coordination of evaluation equipment and purchasing of new equipment.
  • Coordinate Anesthesia Quality program in the Operating Room.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Work Instruction manual.
  • Assist anesthesiologists with various clinical procedures.
  • Set up and operate various equipment supporting anesthesia services.
  • Maintain communication with other departments as it pertains to anesthesia.
  • Support the vision, mission, and values of the organization in all respects.
  • Support Lean principles of continuous improvement with energy and enthusiasm, functioning as a champion of change.
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
  • Conduct all activities with the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, supporting the organization's corporate integrity efforts by acting in an ethical and appropriate manner, reporting known or suspected violation of applicable rules, and cooperating fully with all organizational investigations and proceedings.
  • Deliver customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient, and accurate.

This is a regular full-time position working first shift with variable hours and call. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in a Level II or Level I operating room and extensive experience with anesthesia/operating room equipment.
