We are pleased to announce an opportunity to become a part of our team as a Radiologic Imaging Specialist - Per Diem - Float Pool.

In this position, the selected individual will work under the supervision of a radiologist, utilizing radiologic machinery to generate clinical diagnostic images and executing standard diagnostic procedures in accordance with established protocols and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Operates radiologic equipment to generate high-quality images as requested, adhering to departmental guidelines. Ensures images are suitable for evaluation by the Radiologist.Performs additional tasks as required.Guides and oversees Radiography students during their clinical training. Collaborates with students to complete examinations and conducts quality assurance image reviews.Contributes to the upkeep and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies while following infection control policies. Ensures a safe environment of care and adheres to infection control procedures. Implements Standard Precautions as necessary.Utilizes the Radiology Information Systems accurately. Confirms that the correct exam was performed, verifies the amount of contrast (if applicable), and ensures the appropriate coding is attached. Completes procedures in a timely manner.Ensures proper and prompt use of the PACs system for Radiologist interpretation. Confirms that all images are transferred to PACs without delay.Implements effective radiation safety measures by using appropriate shielding devices when feasible. Monitors exposure levels and complies with departmental policies regarding patients who are pregnant.Prepares patients for examinations by employing correct positioning and immobilization techniques, while providing clear instructions throughout the process.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible, candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED. A Technical Diploma from an AMA accredited Radiology or Imaging Services program is required. A current New York State Radiologic Technician license or a New Graduate with a temporary permit is necessary, with registration required before the temporary permit expires. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required within six months of hire. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation are essential. Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, is required. Comprehensive knowledge of Radiography equipment is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience in Radiologic Technology is preferred.

Qualified candidates should be capable of effectively communicating with all organizational levels.
