Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist I - Certified to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will assist physicians in providing safe and effective patient care during cardiac catheterization procedures. You will collaborate closely with the cath lab team to enhance patient wellness and improve outcomes while adhering to the highest standards of quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Circulate, monitor, and scrub for diagnostic and interventional heart procedures within the cardiac catheterization lab.
- Monitor patient status and document pre-, intra-, and post-procedure details, including hemodynamics, medications, and emergency interventions, following ACLS protocols.
- Prepare for cardiac catheterization procedures by ensuring all necessary paperwork, equipment, supplies, and instruments are ready.
- Respond to on-call duties and manage emergent, urgent, and routine call-ins outside of standard business hours, working collaboratively with the healthcare team.
- Conduct daily quality control checks on equipment and escalate any issues as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department's goals.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Technical Diploma from an accredited Cardiovascular and/or Respiratory Care program or a Radiologic Technologist Program. Registration as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCVT or RCIS) is required within 24 months of employment. Completion of an ACLS course for healthcare providers is necessary within six months of employment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, customer service orientation, and the ability to multitask are essential. Proficiency in operating hemodynamic monitoring systems used in a cardiac cath lab is required, along with basic computer skills and the ability to manage emergency situations effectively.
Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 1-2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab are preferred.
