Job Title: Lead Monitor Tech

Job Summary:

The Lead Monitor Tech will be responsible for leading the operations of the TeleTech Station, supervising personnel, and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of cardiac monitoring and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the operations of the TeleTech Station, ensuring efficient and effective patient care.
  • Supervise personnel, delegating assignments, organizing workflow, and resolving problems.
  • Provide continuous cardiac monitor observation and rhythm strip documentation.
  • Ensure all cardiac telemetry monitoring equipment is in working order and perform quality control tests as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients, obtaining information accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform data entry via computer keyboard and mouse, utilizing medical terminology in the determination of procedure type.
  • Troubleshoot problems and stay abreast of new Phillips protocols, communicating with the nurse manager any concerns.
  • Participate in the employee evaluation program, completing initial 90-day evaluations on all employees.
  • Maintain all equipment and supplies for the scheduling office, inventorying and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Report any malfunctions, necessary adjustments, or repairs of equipment to the nurse manager.
  • Track trends in patient care, noticing and reporting recurrent issues to the nurse manager.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three to six months on-the-job experience in cardiac monitoring and documentation.
  • Training in cardiac monitoring and documentation, with an 85% score on Basic Arrhythmia test and competency on skills checklist.
  • CPR certification and ACLS certification preferred.
  • 6-12 months leadership/supervisory experience preferred.
