Surgical Technologist for Travel Assignments

Position Overview

The Travel Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certification: Must hold certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Job Specifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Patient Care: Responsibilities may include caring for patients with COVID-19 and floating to different units as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent military training with at least five years of experience preferred.
  • Active participation in continuing education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Recent experience in an Operating Room setting is preferred.
  • Possession of necessary technical skills and a foundational understanding of health concepts is required.
Work Schedule

Shifts are typically 5x8 hours during the day, with the possibility of weekend and holiday work as needed, along with on-call responsibilities.

  • This is a NICOTINE FREE FACILITY.
  • Candidates with a history of license suspension will not be considered.
  • All time-off requests must be included in the application.
  • Previous permanent hires at any facility within the organization within the last year are not eligible.
  • Compliance with flu vaccination requirements is necessary during the specified season.
